Provided LIVE—by a speech-language pathologist,
online or by telephone, from your home or office!
EVALUATION
Choose from the following:
- Free evaluation—A brief consultation of results is provided live by a speech-language pathologist.
- Evaluation with report—A detailed written evaluation report is e-mailed to you. Results are reviewed during a live trial instruction
session. A reassessment report is e-mailed to you as verification of program completion and progress achieved.
Both evaluation options include a reassessment at the end of the instruction program, at no additional charge.
INSTRUCTION
Instruction may be individual or in a group setting. Both individual and group
instruction are tailored to each client’s needs within the
following areas:
- intonation (the "rhythm" of speech which
includes pitch changes and
stress of syllables and words)
- articulation (pronunciation of consonants and vowels)
- liaisons (word connections)
- reductions (sounds that are reduced or omitted in American English)
- other characteristics such as volume, rate, vocal quality and presentation
Program Materials:
- Scenarios specific to your professional/daily speech are used for efficient, applicable results. A text file and audio recording are created and emailed by the instructor after sessions for practice. Practice of only 2 to 5 minutes every day can yield significant results in professional/daily speech.
- Additional materials include more than 250 PAGES of text and 12 HOURS of corresponding audio recording on CDs.*
- A "Phrase for the Day" is e-mailed for each day of the program.
- Interactive PRONUNCIATION SOFTWARE is optional.
A 24-week course is generally recommended (depending
on your accent) for greater improvement. However, substantial improvement
can typically be seen in 13 to 16 weeks, and noticeable
improvement can be seen almost immediately.
The 6-Week "Short Course" is designed
for individuals who want to learn how to change their accent but want
to do more work independently or to resume sessions at a later date.
*Applicable for foreign accents. Materials for regional accents may vary. Course materials will be individualized and supplemented as needed.
